Low power Wi-Fi modules
Wiicom designs low power Wi-Fi modules for battery-powered embedded WiFi applications.
The ultra-low power consumption is not achieved only by the nature of the Wi-Fi radio chip, but by the design of the protocol of transmit data.
Wiicom ultra-low power Wi-Fi modules, used for data transfer, have a lower power consumption than a comparable Wi-Fi device transmitting the same amount of data.
This is possible by the HW solution and our radio protocol that is optimized to reduce energy consumption. In fact, our micro can be set into “RUN mode” and “stand-by mode” and our radio-chip Wi-Fi can be set to “ON/OFF Radio mode“.
In this way our modules are particularly suited for applications that use small batteries.
